Future of School Transportation
Almost everyone agrees that the safest way to travel to school is by means of a dedicated single decker school bus that collects from home, is highly visible in Yellow and is 3 point seat-belted with the latest GPS system to allow real time tracking by parents and school, driven by experienced enhanced CRB Checked drivers. YellowBus.org.uk has a mission to make this a reality in the UK.

The original Yellow Bus concept started in the UK but was adopted by North American companies and school districts and they have never looked back. Over 10 billion student trips are done every year in the United States. Every single day there are around 475,000 school buses transporting 35 million children to and from schools and school related activities. So why have we in the UK not been able to successfully run a simple transportation concept for transporting school children using the most safest means of travel for out children. After all, they are the most valuable cargo anyone will ever want transported.

The reason is quite simple. No-one has set out to deploy a national network of Yellow School Buses to transport children because of the high capital expenditure that would be required to run such an operation and due to the demand being reduced due to a culture of using cars and car pool sharing that has surfaced due to no viable alternative which is safe and dedicated to school children only.

Using a proprietary and equitable payment structure the Yellow School Bus Company reflects the distance from school of a child and not a traditional cost by seat payment structure, the Yellow School Bus company can now equitably deliver a solution to most parents looking for a safe alternative means of travel for their secondary school child and in the future for primary school children also.
